I took pleasure today in downloading the new Flight Sim X Demo that
microsoft has recently published on its site. Unfortunatley, the download
was the only pleasure, being recently upgraded to 8meg, coming through in 15
minutes.

I mean, oh dear! No wonder they have been slow to let the public have any
kind of access. It's full of bugs, and the frame rate (even on my high-end
system) is poor when you crank up the display settings.

I could go on and write my 1 hour or so's experience of the game, but it's
not worth it. If you want to download and try, go ahead. The only
improvement I can tell that really stands out is the water effects, and the
(somewhat buggy) missions.

Until I hear hard evidence from other users that this has been rectified in
the final release, I shall stick with 2004.

Has it really taken 3 years of development to produce this?

Well , on my new computer that has two harddrives and 1 GB RAM( one
harddrive for Windows XP 64 and the other harddrive for Windows Vista),
FSX works great with everything on ultra high grafix, etc etc, but FSX
under Windows Vista is really bad.

I dont think it has anything to do with it, but my Windows Vista
harddrive is a little older IDE. My harddrive that has Windows XP 64 is
a SATA drive.

I recall that Microsoft states that FSX is suppose to be better in
Windows Vista. Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm................
